INTRODUCTION

The Vietnamese Culture and Science Association (VCSA) is a non-profit Vietnamese American  organization founded in 1990. It has over 500 members, mostly young Vietnamese - North American professionals in Houston, across the US and Canada. Based in Houston, Texas, VCSA has chapters in Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; San Diego, California; Washington DC; Toronto and London, Canada.

Following the footprints of the VCSA in Houston and its chapters across US and Canada, the VCSA - London Chapter has taken small steps in organizing and making an official formation of our chapter in London. We are proud to have gathered over 15 young community activist members, including a 6-member VCSA Executive Board. Our goal is to bring Vietnamese Canadian professionals together, to develop community program and activities, and to build leadership skills for youth, because youth is a primordial factor in achieving the VCSA’s mission of building strong Vietnamese-American & Canadian communities.

The VCSA’s goals are as followed:

• Preserve and develop Vietnamese heritage and culture for Vietnamese American & Canadian young adults and Vietnamese descendants by establishing various programs and activities.
• Promote cooperation among Vietnamese American & Canadian professionals in exchanging their skills, participating in the programs and activities to build a strong Vietnamese community in North America in general, and in Texas and other states of US in particular.
• Encourage participation in community programs and activities and build a strong sense of civic responsibility among Vietnamese Americans & Canadians.
• Collaborate with other Asian communities and the mainstream society.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Vietnamese Culture & Science Association (VCSA) promotes excellence in education, leadership and skills development through culture and science. Our organization encourages multi-generational and cross-cultural collaborations. We foster civic participation in the mainstream and Vietnamese - North American communities.
